He was worshipped by the father of Tutankhamun, who was originally called Tutankhaten (sorry can’t remember the exact spelling). He annoyed the religuous hierarchy in Egypt by saying there was only one supreme god, the sun god, Aten, denying all other deities. After his death the priests got their own back by removing most records of him and changing his son’s name back to end with amun instead of aten. I am sure if you google him, you will find loads of information.

Aten was worshippped in the 18th Dynasty of Egypt (Tel el Amarna).
He was the sun God. Most relics and tomb walls have him depicted as the sun, with rays for arms and hands given out love.
Look up Akhanaton & Nefertiti. It was Akhanaton & Nefertiti who was the first to worship him.
The occult didn’t live long though; as Egypt soon went back to worshiping Amen.
