When converting Units, how are the numerator and denominator decided?

I decide the numerator by the thing that I want when I convert. For instance, If the question is asking me to convert cm cubed to liters then I make sure liters is in the numerator when I am done. If I write out the conversions and it turns out that my answer is 1/L then I started wrong.
I always work the units in the conversion before I work with the numbers. That way I always set the equation up correctly.

i think, you should put it into decimal, so if it is 3/2, then its 1.5, then u convert, then put it back into fractions! 😀
