What would you research about in France?

My French teacher assigned a project and for it we have to research about something French or some thing from a French speaking country. Like we can do something from the food category (cheeses), fashion (Chanel), and stuff like sports

When I took Humanities in college, I was really fascinated by the pilgrimage churches across Europe that were built around the 10th to 12th centuries. The largest and most important Romanesque structure was the Benedictine monastery church at Cluny in Burgundy (begun in 1088 and destroyed in the 19th century). The pattern established at Cluny was imitated by Benedictine churches throughout France.

The whole town took part in building the church, and it often took more than one lifetime for a church to be built start to finish. Guilds developed as people aspired to develop the finest skills in order to honor God in their work. Stained glass windows, statues, and mosaics were used to tell stories of the Bible for the illiterate masses, and also depicted deeper spiritual truths. There are reams of material about this, whether you want to pursue the architecture, the art, the music, the guilds, or whatever interests you.

Hope that helps! Best wishes!
