what would happen if we dont have books?

what would happen if we dont have books? all of them wipe out of our society. If we dont have non-fiction books, we cant get knowledge. but what about fiction books? I got this question from Fahrenheit 451. I’m writing a thesis paper on why the society was wrong to get rid of books.

i have read the book also. the environment was like a utopia, a perfect place. nobody would argue against anyone. if we didn’t have books and burned them to ashes, ideas would never be recognized or spread, which means that some ideas that may be bad or put against the government wouldn’t be recognized and wouldn’t spread if they burn the books down. i am a little hazy on what happened since i read the book about a year ago

Books are the cheapest and most effective means of disseminating information widely.Once the book is written,no more power is needed to gain the knowledge. If the power goes out,all that is needed is for the Sun to arise. That will be plenty enough to read by.A candle is all the power needed to read in the dark.

It is always “on” and ready to be used.It is very compact and portable and is easily stored.

A book will easily last 25 years and still be readable.Nothing else can do that.

Finally,in Farenheit 451 books were viewed as subversive.Any knowledge other than what the State had to offer was a threat to their power. When they destroyed books, they cut off all knowledge of the past. Then they inserted what they wanted known by propaganda. It was mind control and that can never happen when books are freely written and available.
