What sentence/statment do you think is more descriptive? Why?

1. You could almost see the twinkle of happiness in my eye.

2. You could tell that I was intoxicated with joy.

with all honesty the first sentence is more descriptive, it describes the expression of someone’s eyes by saying happiness, and the twinkle which describes the happiness. For instance it could have said, ” you could almost see the tearness of happiness in my eye.”

#2 but I would change the word tell to see.

You could see that I was intoxicated with joy.

No.1 I can see that. Drunk with joy? Doesn’t make much sense. Sounds confusing.

1. – it’s more suggestive. I like the “almost”!
