A postulate is a statement about a geometrical world that is accepted without justification. A theorem is a conclusion that

follows logically from the postulates using rational argument and does require justification.

a postulate is like a hypothesis, you make a educated guess based on the given information. a theorum is a proof, you have to show how you got an answer if possible based on the given information, and you have to know why you got the answer.
