Haven’t read this book for a while but I don’t think it was that uneventful?

There are many climaxes, I have listed a few here for you:

1. When William Morel dies and causes Gertrude Morel so much pain.

2. When Paul realises that it is his mother that he loves more than anything, he and his mother have been through everything.

3. The first argument between Paul and his mother about Miriam.

Hope that helps. D.H Lawrence tended to write solemn stories about a grey, depressing England. I don’t think anything he has ever written could be classed as exciting really.
