The family was so excited to go to California. We got our bags packed and we were on the road around three o’clock in the morning. Everyone was laughing and having an ecstatic time

It was nighttime now and everyone was sleeping except my dad, who was driving. Before we knew it we were in El Paso. It was so burning! A disturbing one hundred and six degrees. Everyone wasn’t laughing now. Then, our air conditioner had broken down and everyone went ballistic. The whole time I was sheltered under my blanket to keep the sun out of my eyes. I could feel sweat drops the size of quarters running down my cherry-red face. As it couldn’t get any worse our car tire had pooped out of nowhere! We went to an auto repair shop near by. Our car was going to be fixed the next morning.

We had checked in a hotel that night. Next, we got our room and it was so horrid! Shower only ran freezing water, bed as hard as rock, and the room had an unpleasant hot odor. We all decided to go to another hotel but it was five miles away and we had no car to get there.

I woke up the next morning and it was freezing! I washed my face and the water was colder than before I walked into this jail cell. The car was working again and everything was back to normal. Actually, everything went perfect after that. The car window was down and I could taste hot air and fresh strawberries in my mouth. A beautiful view of serene strawberry fields brought brightness into the atmosphere.

A few hours passed and we were finally in California. I was so nervous to see my cousins. We found the house and we were so happy to see the family. My Aunt had made dinner and everybody sat down and ate. We were laughing, Talking and taking pictures. I realized after all the horrible conditions and bad luck, it was all worth it in the end because it was awesome to spend time with my family.
