it is a reference to a well-known poem (Robert Frost) in which the narrator stops his horse in a snowstorm to look longingly into deep dark woods, but then goes on because he has miles to go before he sleeps

it is commonly interpreted as a meditation on death

Or maybe, something about The bell’s toll

that is a reference to Hemingway’s title For Whom the Bell Tolls (he actually did kill himself, with a shotgun blast I believe)
