What properties could you use to distinguish between salt and sugar?

Sugar grains are smooth while salt grains are rough. If you take, say, one cup of sugar and one cup of salt and pour them into separate piles, you will see the salt piles up higher than the sugar because the sugar grains will tumble down easier.
boiling point could be one. I remember in cooking that if you add salt to boiling water it increases the temperature of the boiling point. I don’t think you can do this with sugar.
sugar is molecular bonded differently than salt. salt when ground down will always split with even sides making geometic peices. this is because it is a crystalline molecular structure. sugar, being a glucose is alot more flexible in its bonds and when ground will be all different sizes…try it, it is demonstraitable.
Salt is salty.
A milkshake is good
when it’s thick and malty,
sugar makes it cheery
salt would make it mean
to recognize the difference
you don’t need to be that keen.
