what is the meaning of life???
Favorite Answer
“There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide. Deciding whether or not life is worth living is to answer the fundamental question in philosophy. All other questions follow from that.” (Albert Camus, noted 20th century philosopher and writer)
We get worth from living for a real purpose. Real purpose, by the very definition of the word “purpose”, requires God.
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (noted 20th century philosopher and mathematician)
If we reject God, we also reject purpose and meaning and all we have left are some activities which will make us feel better about ourselves (boost the ego) and/or make us forget about our meaningless existence. (Everyone who says to create your own meaning actually is referring to doing things that make us forget about not having meaning.)
But if we admit God might exist, then He must have put our great need for meaning into our human nature in order to point us to seek Him. So our purpose is to seek God and we do that by obeying His command to love our neighbors for where love is, there God is also.
