r=-3

Plug -3 back into the equation and check it yourself:

6(-3+2)-4=10?

“i assumed you often had to take the x coordinate of the optimal element” you will be thinking of cosine right here. The section shift will make certain the place the expression interior the sine function is 0. sin(0) = 0 so the section shift would desire to apply the time once you’re on the middle top. cos(0) = a million so the section shift would desire to apply the time once you’re on the optimal top. so which you would be able to desire to apply the two of right here: sin(pi/8 (t – 4)) = cos(pi/8 (t – 8))

I got -3 too.

6r+12 = -10 +4

6r+12 = -6

6r = -6 – 12

6r = -18

r = -18 / 6

r = -3
