What is patriotism?

I have to do a definition on patriotism and I am stuck. My belief is that patriotism is not fighting in wars or displaying the flag but it is deeper than that its fighting for what is right based on the constitution and the values on which our country was founded even if it means disagreeing with the current leaders and/or popular belief. My problem is that I can’t figure out how to turn this into a 1000 word essay. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i think that you have an awesome thesis 🙂

now what you can do is give what other people ‘s difinition on patriotism. and give points that support your beliefs… 1000words go by fast when you passionately write about something.

i’m on my 2nd page of what is censorship and i already have 785 words… hehe… and i still have a paragraph and a conclusion to finish up..

GL to you!

Perhaps you could find a couple of things in the Constitution or Bill of Rights that you think are worth fighting for and tie that to patriotism. Sounds like Freedom of speech would be a good place to start since you mention that people have the right to disagree with current leaders, etc. Good luck!

I know what you mean about the wars and everything, i think patriotism means: speaking highly of your country, having a flag either in the house or in your car and just to support them.
