What is an example of hyperbole in the novel “The Great Gatsby?”?

A hyperbole is a figure of speech in which statements are exaggerated. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, and is not meant to be taken literally. Some example are: “He has a brain the size of a pea.”

“I could eat a horse.”

“I’ve heard that a million times.”

“She is a hundred feet tall.”

“He glittered when he walked”

the poet uses hyperbole to describe how much people admired him. A person like him, in people’s eyes should be very happy. But in contrary, one night he shot himself in the head. This proves that even though he was very rich, however he’s not happy.
