What do I need to do to become a dentist?

Here’s what you need to take since I took all the coursework in college for admissions:
*2 semesters of Freshman Composition
*2 semesters of General Biology
*2 semesters of General Chemistry
*2 semesters of Organic Chemistry
*2 semesters of Calculus
*2 semesters of Anatomy and Physiology
*1 semester of Microbiology
*2 semesters of Physics (Trig-based or preferably Calculus-based physics)
* 1 semester of Immunology
The typical route is 3-4 years of bachelor’s degree (sometimes it would take up to 5) and 4 years of Denistry school. I am med student but denistry is a great option they tend to get more respect than physicians because physicians are considered con artists by a lot of people and denistry is highly regarded where I live.
Take extracurricular activities that interest you, shadow a dentist, work in a dentist office (if possible but if not volunteer your services), take part in community and campus service role that interest you, and try to get a leadership position (whether its campus, community, or place of worship … it doesn’t matter take charge). They want a Type-A, overachiever who is sincere not a fake. Admission committes are pretty good at sniffing out a fake. So, the key is quality not quantity.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to message me and I’ll try to answer expeditiously. Good luck in your post-secondary education! 🙂
