i would imagine if you were to suddenly become a slave you would be very depressed, because you had been free at one time. this would affect your desire to eat, cause you not to want to work, and therefore you would be beaten. you would not want to do anything fast, as there would just be more to do, and you would be beaten again. however, since as a slave you would be a valuable piece of property, you would not be damaged by your owner to the point of not being able to work. you would be forced to eat enough so your health would not suffer greatly
