1) his father doesn’t want him to build rockets, because it doesn’t do anything for the country or Coalwood.

2) Homer is horrible at math, and the math is too advanced even for Quincy (it took Homer hours and hours to get the math before Quincy)

3) When Homer’s father almost died, he had to drop out of school to help the family.

4) When Homer went to the Science Competition he got his science supplies stolen by someone.

5) He has a problem with the opposite sex (he can’t easily talk to girls).

Issues as a team:

1) they had to fly rockets far from Coalwood due to the fact that one of their rockets went near the mines and Homer’s father got ticked off.

2) they got arrested, because supposedly one of their rockets caused a forest fire (that was later proven otherwise).

3) They were mocked, because of what they were doing.

Somes Ideas they had:

1) they used every single piece of material to built rockets: alcohol, steel, and even potassium chloride that Ms. Ridley showed her class how to make.

2) They went to abandoned railroads, pulled the steel nails and rails to sell so they can get so money.

3) They used the money to buy really strong metal that doesn’t melt after a chemical reaction and they got help from to workers from the Mining Company (can’t remember their names-one of them dies).

4) They developed different rocket launchers-from using a match to electrically flying rockets
