Well, Columbus was cetainly not the first off-continent visitor, just the most aggressive (up to then) for claiming everything he saw for his sponsors. And he didn’t even know where he was – THAT should have made any claims null and void.

Columbus just found American and introduced it to the Eastern World. The Native Americans were here first…but it was an invasion of sorts.

The land we cal”America” was always here. Columbus was only one of a group of people claiming to”discover” it. Alot of groups also”invaded” it. There was no real group who “owned “America, before Columbus claimed it for Spain.
