you need to substitute into the slope intercept form of the equation to find the y intercept y = mx + b

5 = 1 times 3 +b

b = 5 – 3 = 2

in slope intercept form you have y = 3x + 2

standard form is ax + by = c so you have 3x + y = 2

use y=mx+b, then plug in 5 for y, 1 for x, and 3 for m to find the b. then change your slope-intercept form (y=3x+2) into standard by subtracting 3x from both sides making it -3x+y=2 or 3x-y+2.
