almost every country then had some sort of civil or tribal warfare, and with lots of inter-racial fighting, genocide, etc. countries that were prosperous saw all their money go to war machines and dictators, both from the left and the right

the only thing that can really be blamed on the Europeans is the false boundaries they drew when they left, such as between India and Pakistan, and in the middle east, between the various Arab nations. most of those boundaries made no sense then, and make no sense now. but for the most part the inhabitants brought it on themselves. just part of evolution. look ar a map of Europe 800 years ago and see what countries still have their same boundaries and inhabitants.
