The editorial said the death of Tom Robinson was like the ‘senseless killing of a songbird’. Know what that means? 🙂 Yeah, that the killing of Tom was like killing a mockingbird.

Mockingbirds are harmless creatures, which bring us music and do nothing bad in return. It’s a sin to kill a mockingbird, thus the word ‘senseless’ in Mr.Underwood’s editorial.

All this happened after his death(after the missionary tea scene). You can find it in the book.^^

I don’t remember the editorial. However, it was a “sin” to kill a mockingbird. They don’t do anything but sing and make nice sounds. They were not a pest. A correlation was seen between the mockingbird and Boo Radley. Because people didn’t know him, they treated him poorly. All he wanted to do was to help people. He wasn’t a pest.

See if that fits into your editorial.
