They both were from england they they both studied the government and the human nature.

Thomas Hobbes

He belived that all humans are naturally selfish and wicked. Without government it was every man for himself. he aurged people to belive that the best government for them was the one where one person had total control A.K.A an absolute monarchy. his view on the Social contrat was: to gain order and law people must give up their rights to a absolute ruler. So based on his beliefs you can figure out that he supports an absoulte monarchy, which had the right to impose order, and demand obedience.

John Locke

He believed that people could learn from experience and improve themselves. As, reasonable beings they had the natural ability to govern their own affairs and look after the welfare of the society. he critized the absolute monarchy and favored the idea od self government. According to Locke all people are born free and equal, with 3 natural rights— life, liberty, and property. He also said that if a government fails to protec its citizens’ rights, the citizen have the right to overthrow it.

Hope this help

Hobbes and Locke were both English philosophers (although I think Locke was originally from Scotland). Locke is the first and perhaps one of the greatest of the Englightenment thinkers. Locke influenced all of the great minds of Europe including Voltaire.

Hobbes was a political philosopher who felt individuals acted in self-interested cooperation

Locke philosophied that we live in a world of social contract; where we have obligations to society as a whole.

both interesting in their own diverse ways.
