i dont know if you’re speaking about the past or the present..anyway,,the cause for acute labor shortage in “plantation” industry was due to the fact that farmers were planting more crops than they were able to harvest.,thus the introduction to slavery..today the shortage of labor is for many reasons.People don’t want to work,sometimes they have it better drawing off the government than working,it’s a flawed & messed up system.the working person barely makes it sometimes from check to check,while the unemployed person drawing off welfare,is going on vacation,or to the movies.Thus the introduction again of immigrant workers.,who will work,&do the job for less money than an American would have.Sometimes we cause our problems on ourselves……
