2x-3y=12

Subtract 2x from both sides

-3y = 12 – 2x

Divide thru by 3

-y = 4 – (2/3)x

Multiply both sides by -1

y = -4 + (2/3)x or y = (2/3)x – 4

1. 2x=12+3y ( add 3y to both sides)

2. 2x-12=3y ( subtract 12 from both sides)

3. 2/3x -4=y (divide by 3 to both sides)

4. Voila!

ok

here’s how it works

it’s basically a two part problem

in the first problem you substitute X for 0 so it’s 2(0)-3y=12

and then it ends up as [Y=-4]

the second problem you have to substitute Y for 0 and so it’s

2x-3(0)=12 and the answer is [X=6]

i hope this is the kind of problem you’re talking about.

if not, sorry.

2x-3y=12

subract 2x from both sides.

-3y= 12-2x

divide both sides by -3.

y= 12/(-3) – 2x/(-3)

reduce.

y= -4+2/3x

2x-3y=12

Subtract 2x from both sides

-3y=12-2x

Divide both sides by -3

y=-4+(2/3)x

You could also write this as

y=(2/3)x-4

2x-3y=12

-2x -2x

-3y=12-2x

make variable positive

3y = -12 +2x

divide by 3

y= -4 +2x/3

that’s it 😀

2x-3y=12

-3y=12-2x

3y=-12+2x=2x-12

y=(2x-12)/3

y = 2/3x-4

y = (12 – 2x) / -3

Do you recommend resolve for x in terms of y? y = (x^2 + x + 0.25) – one million – 0.25 y = (x + 0.5)^2 – one million.25 y + one million.25 = (x + 0.5)^2 +/- sqrt(y + one million.25) = x + 0.5 +/- sqrt(y + one million.25) – 0.5 = x
