it will only be true if (x-3) is zero, so when you solve that, you get that x = 3.

it is the same as 5(x-3)(x-3)=0 so if you set each one equal to zero and solve, you will have your answer of x=3

is the whole problem squared?

If it is then I get following the PEMDAS method

5(x-3)squared=0

(5x+15)squared=0

25x+225=0

25x+225=0

-225 -225

25x=-225

x=-9

If I did it right then it is a false statement because -9 does not =0

5(x-3)^2=0

5(x-3)=0

x-3=0

x=3
