It IS hard on this site to separated the “cheaters” from those who genuinely simply want help in their homework.
But Laryn, I think you merely want a little help. I’m not going to give the whole shebang away and write your project for you.
Eight sentences about the government and how it started.
What you COULD list here is a brief history of the US before it was the US. Our government was created out of its history.
1. The pilgrims and the pact they agreed to aboard the Mayflower.
2. The Declaration of Independence. It lists grievances against George III. In fact, if you look at ONLY the Declaration, you could find all eight of your items that would lead up to the later development of the country.
3. The Articles of Confederation. It had weaknesses, hence the need for the Constitution and the formation of a stronger union between the independent states.
Your extra credit questions are the easiest questions of all to answer. To find your fact, simply look at the Constitution and quote what it says about each branch.
To give you a clue:
The President must be 35 years of age to hold office.
There’s one fact. If your willing to read the Constitution, it shouldn’t be hard to come up with several more.
For instance: What powers does Congress have? Can it declare war?

The US government was created by writing and adopting the newly written US Constitution, which was actually the SECOND attempt at creating a viable federal government that all the states and people could buy into.
