For the first pattern, for each term you add one to the numerator and subtract 1 from the denominator of the previous term.
1/8 -> 2/7 -> 3/6 OR 1/2 -> 4/5 -> 5/4 -> 6/3 OR 2
The second pattern can be derived a couple different ways:
The easiest is that each term is 360/n, starting with n=1, so
360 (n=1), 180 (n=2), 120 (n=3), 90 (n=4), 72 (n=5), 60 (n=6)
