The dependent variable is the thing that changes. The blood pressure changes, right?

So, the caffeine level is the independent variable.

Along the x axis is: amount of caffeine ingested

Along the y axis is: height of blood pressure

The independent variable is the level of caffeine.

The dependent variable is blood pressure.

You manipulate the independent variable and observe changes in the dependent variable.
