I agree with the poster above me completely in that while there are actions on the parts of specific characters that contribute to Romeo’s death it is ultimately the whole Capulet/Montague conflict that we can pin his death on. I’d just like to add in the fact that it is really the violence and hatred of the members of the Capulets, Montagues, and even society as a whole that is at fault for Romeo’s death rather than any characters in the book. Like the above poster said, the two families fought out of tradition and inbred hatred rather than some actual problem with each other. It’s this nonsensical hatred, which can even be extended to be viewed as the senseless yet timeless hatred that exists in all societies, that truly killed Romeo. Romeo died because of this idea- that there was no possible way two people could not hate each other.

Just an idea. Hope it helped somewhat.

Talk as much as you can about the capulates and montagues b/c they are mostly to blame. I’d mention in your paper that the family members in the play don’t even remember why they are fighting but they just fight b/c that is how they were raised…to hate each other (we know that because not once in the play does anyone mention the cause of the feud).

yet while Juliet needs her maximum – after her dad and mom order her to marry Paris – the Nurse betrays her. Romeo is as sturdy as ineffective, the Nurse tells Juliet, and he or she had greater valuable overlook him and marry Paris. Is the nurse as in charge for Juliet’s death? perhaps. Or, as one oh-so-diffused production stated, quite: in this production, on the suitable scene, while the Prince says that some would be punished, a noose dropped from the ceiling and swung in front of the Nurse.
