Quick question regarding the Marshall Plan, please?
Underlying the Marshall Plan was the assumption that?
a. Eastern Europe could be freed from Soviet domination
b. it could convert the Soviet Union to democracy
c. economic prosperity brings political stability
d. the US would not directly participate in the proposal
e. socialism was appropriate for Europe, but not for the US
I was thinking A, but was it Eastern? I thought it was Western Europe they wanted to stop Communism. My other guess was C, but I’m not sure.

After the Great Depression brought on by WWI, the US proposed the Marshall Plan as a way to rebuild the economy after WWII to keep the world from going into another depression.
