you have 3 x’s and 2 o’s….therefore the probability is

3 x 2 x 2 x 1 x 1

Why?

For the first x, you have 3 possible tiles you can draw that will give you an X.

First O, you have 2 tiles you can draw that give you an O.

Second X you have 2 tiles you can draw that give you an X.

Second O you have 1 tile you can draw that gives you an O.

Final X you have 1 X you can draw that gives you an X.

I agree with Can N (except maybe for the “what IS the odds” fiasco…). I also got 1/10 as my answer although I tried a different approach. Simply put, the only possible arrangements (I could think of) are XXXOO, XXOXO, XXOOX, XOXXO, XOXOX, XOOXX, OXXXO, OXXOX, OXOXX, OOXXX. Therefore, the probability is 1/10. I’d say give Can N the 10 points for the best answer.

since there are five tiles wouldn’t it be 5 time 4 times 3 times 2 times 1=120 ways

get common denominators, then use your basic functions and order of ops. so (12/10)+(4/10)/(39/10)*(55/10). =344/195=1.7641
