Pre-calculus/Intro to Calculus Problems – Please Help!!?
If you can help with any of these it would be greatly appreciated:
1. Rationalize the denominator: 1 / (1 + square root 3 – square root 5 )
2. Write in exponential form: (1/a) / ((1/b) * square root a)
3. Solve for x without a calculator: log subscript 3 (x^2) = (2 log subscript 3 (4)) – (4 log subscript 3 (5))

1. Multiply the expression by (1+sqrt(3)+sqrt(5))/(1+sqrt(3)+sqrt(5)). Then multiply the result by (2*sqrt(3)+1)/(2*sqrt(3)+1) and there you go. You should tend to eliminate the irrational numbers by using the formula: (sqrt(a)+sqrt(b))*(sqrt(a)-sqrt(b))=a-b, where sqrt(a) stands for square root.
2. When you simplify the fraction you should get b/(a*sqrt(a))=b*(a superscript -3/2).
