1/y=(1/x)+(1/z)

xyz(1/y)=xyz((1/x)+(1/z))

xz=yz+yx

xz=y(z+x)

(xz/(z+x))=y

1/y = 1/x + 1/z

You have to move y to the right side:

1 = y (1/x + 1/z)

Then move all the content in the bracket to the left

1/ (1/x +1/z) = y

Rearrange the equation

y = 1/ ( (z + x) / xz )

y = xz / (z+x)

1/y = 1/x + 1/z

Multiply both sides by xyz leaving you with:

xz = yz + xy = y(x+z)

Divide both sides of the equation by (x+z), giving:

xz/(x+z)=y
