Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help with my homework?

There are 29 teams in the National Basketball Association. Each team can have a maximum of 12 healthy players plus 3 players on injured reserve. Use the distributive property to find the maximum number of players who can be in the NBA.

Ok, the distributive property can be worded like this:

a(b + c) = ab + ac

(meaning that you multiply the item outside the parentheses by each of the numbers inside the parentheses and then simplify). So, for your problem….

29(12 + 3)

There are 29 teams, and you have to have 12 healthy players and 3 on the injured list)…so, distribute 29 into the parentheses and you get…

29(12) + 29(3)

348 + 87 = 435

So, there can be a max of 435 players in the NBA.

Hope that helped.

29(12+3) you would times 29 by 12 and get 348 and then times 29 by 3 and get 87

then add 348+87

= 435

3 (29 X 12)

(3 X 29) + (3 X 12)

87 + 36
