In this sentence does the apostrophe go before the s or after the s?
Mr. Escalante, the (students’ or student’s) calculus teacher, did the best job he could to teach the students, which shows how much he cared about their education.
I am talking about all of the students in that sentence so i think it would be students’ but im not sure.

You are correct – the apostrophe goes after the s. The reason is that the word “students” in this sentence is a complete word and you do not interrupt it by putting an apostrophe before the end, which would actually change the meaning to being a single student.
