please explain significant digits?

tell me everything about them. what i dont understand most is how to round to the significant digits when doing an equation with adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying

Whichever number in the equation has the least sig figs, that’s the amount of sig figs you get to use in your answer. If the number is a decimal with a lot of zeros in front of it, you don’t count the zeros (aka. 0.00000002, unless it’s 2.0000002, then you do count them).

0.00002 has 1

2000.0 has 5

3.3 has 2

1.111000 has 7

100 has 1

if it has a (.) all #’s starting with the first real # at the left

no(.) count from the right once you have a real number include all 0’s
