Henry wanted to part from the King’s rule. He, like many, believed that they were poorly treated. Their only option was to form a seperate union from the King. They felt that they were more of slaves than they were colonist. The ruler took advantage of them at every oppurtunity. If need be, they should go to war, rather than spend another minute ruled by people who care not of them. Death is but a minor thing in the face of adversity. It would be better to die than to have no rule over your own homeland. and life Hence, “Give me liberty or give me death.”
