Adding a negative number to a positive number is the same as subtracting that number from a positive number. Hence,
-193 + 225 is the same as 225 – 193 = 62
-18 + 7 + 45 is the same as 7 + 45 – 18 = 34
30 + (-25) + (-15) is the same as 30 – 25 – 15 = -10
19 + (-9) + 45 is the same as 19 – 9 + 45 = 55

-193 + 225
= 225 – 193
= 32
-18+7+45
= 7 + 45 – 18
= 34
30+(-25) +(-15)
= 30 – 25 – 15
= 5-15
= -10
19 + (-9)+ 45
= 19 – 9 +45
= 55

-193+225 = 32
-18+7+45= -11 + 45 = 34
30+(-25) +(-15) = 5 + (-15) = -10
19 + (-9)+ 45 = 10 + 45 = 55

Positives and negatives are easy when you draw yourself out a number line. Just think of it like this… Adding a positive and a negative number is simply subtraction. Adding a positive and a positive is just addition. Adding a negative and a negative is a little more tricky, it’s basicly just addition but your answer will have a negative sign since they are both negative anyhow. -3 + -3 = -6 Subtracting a positive and a negative is just addition again, because the subtracting automatically makes the last number a positive. (Taking a negative away is actually adding..) 5 – -2= 7, or is the same as 5 + 2= 7 Subtracting a positive and a positive is just subtraction. Subtracting a negative and a negative is where you add the negatives together. Remember that subtracting a negative makes adding a positive. Changes the sign. Ex. -2 – -4= 2 or -2 + 4 = 2 Hopes this helps.
