How can I compliment someone with such a huge ego?

If he wants praise, let him praise himself.
Someone with a huge ego is someone who thinks highly of himself–too highly.
To compliment someone is to say something positive to them like: “What a nice shirt you’re wearing.” That person might respond.”Thanks for the compliment. You’ve made my day.”
To praise is also to compliment, and the two words are closely related.
“The preacher praised the whole church for giving so much to charity.”
A complement is usually a brief observation. To praise usually involves more words and lasts longer.
