some intrinsic factor would include IQ level, apttitude, fears ( if you are squeamish about blood, you cant be a nurse…), size, ( you cant be a jockey if you weigh 400 pounds…) and personality ( you cant be a teacher if you are afraid to speak in public)
Extrinsic factors include location ( hard to be a marine biologist in the desert), policies of employers ( you cant work some places if a relative works there) personal past history ( some jobs are not available to felons )

Of course, I do agree. Intrinsic factors are those that will be essentially important to our lives, as in our chosen career. It should at any means must count a lot. And extrinsic, is nothing but can be a nuisance when you wish to achieve something.

Intrinsic factors that affect career selection are factors “inside” of you such as: career interests, temperament, aptitude, educational level, etc.
Extrinsic factors are factors “outside” of you, such as: educational opportunities, access to career information and counseling, exposure to people in different career fields, belonging to social and professional groups, etc.
I hope that helps.
