I think it’s saying how you participate in honoring Veteran’s, how you CAN participate, and what kind of establishments (such as the VFW) honor them as well. Anything related to honoring veterans.

Do you participate in parades? Do you have flag ceremonies on Flag Day in your town? Do you visit the VA hospitals? Anything that has to do with veterans. How do you respect them?

what can you do to let veterans know you appreciate the work they did?

can be anything from sitting and listening to your grandfather tell war stories to organizing a parade or luncheon for the local VFW chapter.
