pluto’s inhabitants use the same mathematical operators that we do (+, -, etc.) they also use an operator @ that we do not know. the following are true for any real number:
x@0=x
x@y=y@x
(x+1)@y=(x@y)+y+1

hi!
12@5 = 5@12 (using 2nd)
5@12 = (4+1)@12 = 4@12+12+1 (3rd)
5@12= 4@12 +13 = 3@12 + 2×13 = 2@12 + 3×13
= 1@12 + 4×13 = 0@12 + 5×13 = 12 + 5×13
so
12 @ 5 = 12 + 5 x 13 = 77
the general expression seems to be
x@y = x + y (x+1)
check 1st
x@0 = x +0(x+1) = x
yes
check second
x@y = x + y(x+1) = x + yx +y = y + xy + x = y + x(y+1) = y@x
yes
