A number of counters can be grouped exactly into 5’s, 6’s and 9’s.

Find the smallest possible number of counters.

Here’s how to get the answer in case you have another problem like it.

find the prime factors for all 3 numbers (not including 1)

5 = 5

6 = 2,3

9 = 3,3

now you pick the most for each factor

5 from 5

2 from 6

3,3 from 9

so answer is 5 * 2 * 3 * 3 = 90

this is also called the Least common Multiple, or Least Common Denominator
