1. 3(x) + 22 = 7(x) – 14

solve from there

2. if x = greater number and y = lesser number:

x = 2(y) + 1, and

3(x) = 5(y) + 10

replace x in the second equation with 2(y) + 1, since we know that is equal to x, and solve.

3. if x = month 1 and y = month 2:

100 = x + y, and

x = y – 20

so, replacing x with y – 20 in the first equation, you get 100 = y – 20 + y, so 100 = 2(y) – 20, so 120 = 2(y), so y = 60. If the second month is 60, then the first month is 40, because we know the two months together must = 100.

10 minutes is authentic – this is going to ensue even as A is being lapped by utilizing both B and C together. provided that C is travelling 200m/min speedier, they are going to lap A each 5 minutes. B will lap A in worry-free words each 10 minutes. for this reason after 10 minutes both B and C will be lapping A.
