Math Help please?

If it takes a group of 10 people 5 hours to pick 300 apples, how many hours would it take 1 person to pick 300 apples?

this is an SAT type of question and Im not sure where to start with it…

Think about it like this. If 10 people can do the task (picking 300 apples, you can ignore the number because it stays the same) in 5 hours, 1 person doing the same task is going to take 10 times as long to do it, seeing as they would have to do the work for all 10 people alone.

So, 10*5=50

It would take the person 50 hours to pick 300 apples.

one person picks 6 an hour so it would take 50 hours for one person to pick 300 apples

i just divided 300 by 5.. equaling 60 apples were picked each hour and then divided by 10.. meaning each person picked six an hour.. so that’s how i got one person picks 6 apples an hour.. then divide that six into 300 to see how long it takes for one person to pick 300 apples

10 ppl – 300 app – 5 hrs

1 ppl – 300 app – 5*10 hrs (it would take more time, so multiply)

= 50 hrs
