The a squared is your variable. (They’re checking to see if your going to add the coefficient 2)

the answer is 22a squared

Since they all have [a squared] in them, you can add them together.

So 6+4+12=22.

So the answer would be 22 a squared,

get it?

The “a” represents an unknown number. All you need to do is add the six, four and 12 together.

You will hear your teacher say you can “add the coefficients if the variables are the same>”
