A basketball team has won 50 games of 75 played. The team still has 45 games to play. How many of the remaining games must the team win in order to win 60% of all games played during the season? please help.

Let’s look at it from the point of ‘what do I want to know’?

I want to know how much 60% of the games will be.

All the games played is 75 + 45 = 120 games.

What’s 60% of that? 120 x .6 = 72

(I hope that’s right – check it out.)

So, to win 60% of the games, we have to win 72 games. We’ve already won 50 of them, so how many more do we need to win?

72 games that need won -50 games already won = 22 games still to be won.
