a cultural event is a special occasion or event that is celebrated in the remebrance of something in an event. e.g. there are many cultural events in hinduism/indian culture like holi and diwali etc. these are events in which they celebrate in remebrance of something. another cultural event you may also wanna talk about is the one muslims celebrate twice a year, its known as eid. there are many other ones too. but thats all i cud think of. i hope this helps!!

2) What happened that year that had a major impact on the culture in which you live? This year, for instance, it could be the introduction of the iPhone, which is sure to change technology as we know it.
