would it be reasonable if i use the quote “the sun never sets on the british empire” for an essay i’m doing on the 13 colonies?

Like the other answerer said, use context clues. Say something like:
However, the colonies still had dependence on England. They traded x, y, and z with them, and were governed by King whatever-his-name-was. Even now, the United States depends on England for whatever. As blah blah blah said, “The sun never sets on the british empire.”
Just take out the blah blah blahs etc. and make it your own. It’ll be great! good luck!

in order to use that you have to put in context clues as well – something (a sentence/paragraph) elaborating on that one statement. if you’re being figurative you need to be scientific and theological in the rest of the explanation. and if you do use that, it needs to be your opening sentence. put it into quotations and then explain
