introductory paragraph?
i am writing a descriptive essay and i cant remember how to write a introductory paragraph for this type of essay. do i still give examples or what? the essay is to be on a personal experience.
this is what i have:
The saying goes that change is good. That can be a comfort to hear when one is leaving home to move over two thousand miles away to live in a new state with a new family. When I got on the airplane on June 2nd I came to think long and hard about that saying. On that day I got through the morning with my mother, my loneliness, the fear I had, and the change that I was undergoing.

That’s actually an ok intro paragraph for a descriptive essay. Clearly you do remember it. =) But you are having some tense issues…such as I think “I got through the morning” should be “I had gotten through the morning” because this story sounds like it is going to be in past perfect. Find an English nerd and ask them to revise it for you.
